"This Is It !", le 5/03/2009, Michael Jackson n'a que cette phrase dans son vocabulaire. Une conférence de presse annonçant le grand retour sur scène de Michael Jackson après les Bad Tour, Dangerous Tour et History Tour, avec comme projet, une tournée de 10 concerts prévu à Londres mais qui tourneront rapidement à 50 concerts, à l'O² Arena en été 2009. Sa tournée devait commencer le 13 Juillet 2009 et se clore le 6 Mars 2010. Mais voilà après plusieurs mois de répétitions dans l'ombre totale, le 25 Juin 2009, Michael Jackson meurt subitement d'un arrêt cardiaque après que le docteur Conrad Murray, docteur diplômé lui injecte une forte dose de Propofol, anesthésiant utilisé dans les hôpitaux à très basse dose. Des millions de fans pleurent la Star, la tournée annulée... Quelques jours après le décès de l'idole, l'information est bien réelle, les répétitions étant été filmée, la famille donne son accord pour les diffuser dans quasiment toutes les salles du monde entier...Le futur film est d'abord présenté avec quelques secondes de répétitions de "They don't care about us" puis par une bande annonce constitué de plusieurs images des répétitions. Le film sortira le 28 Octobre 2009 dans tous les cinémas pour seulement 2 semaines ! Dans ce film, on voit un Michael Jackson en forme. Il n'interpretera que la première partie de la tournée constitué de: Wanna be Startin Something, Speechless, Jam, They don't care about us, Human Nature, Smooth Criminal, Dirty Diana(répétitions inachevées), The way you make me feel, une partie J5, Shake your body, I just can't stop loving you, Thriller, Beat It, Black or White, Earth Song, Billie Jean et enfin Man in the mirror...
La deuxième partie de la tournée, qui devait débuter en 2010 aurait été constitué de: Wanna be Startin Something, Jam, Scream ( Avec Janet Jackson), They don't care about us, You are not alone, Smooth Criminal, Dirty Diana, The you make me feel, J5, Off The Wall, Billie Jean, Thriller, Beat it, Blood on the dancefloor, Black or White, Earth Song, We Are The World, Heal the world, Bad, puis Man in the mirror pour clore le spectacle...
